Saturday was a night unlike any other for the Bozeman Hawks. After losing in the class AA championship game three years in a row, the Hawks overcame the odds to break the streak in 2019. Despite the number one seed Hellgate Knights coming in as the favorites to win the title, the Hawks instead stunned the Knights on a buzzer-beater from Brett Clark to win the game in overtime. As the hero of the game, Brett Clark hit 8-of-9 shots, including the game-winner at the buzzer. Despite Rollie Worster scoring 26 points on 7-of-13 shooting from downtown and the Knights forcing overtime after a 12-point comeback, the Hawks persevered to get the victory. Bozeman Head Coach Wes Holmquist said after the game that this was a place the Hawks knew they would be all along. "I told our team, don't worry. We're going to fly under the radar all year long, now the pressure's on them," Holmquist said. "Man they wanted this thing, they worked really hard. I think both teams played so hard. But I mean, that wasn't the prettiest game. It wasn't the best game either of us have played, but two really good teams that really wanted that thing...Nothing but joy for those kids."
