WIAA releases new guidelines for return to athletics and activities

The Governor’s Office and Washington State Department of Health issued new guidance for returning to education-based sports and activities on Tuesday, using the statistical benchmarks of COVID-19 cases per 100,000 residents in a given county, as well as the percentage of positive tests.

WIAA modifies 2020-21 sports calendar; football, volleyball among sports moved to spring

With much of the state still mired in “Phase 2” of Gov. Jay Inslee’s four-phase Safe Start Washington plan in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association on Tuesday announced some drastic changes to the high school sports calendar with the hopes of conducting seasons and culminating events for each of the sports it offers.

New WIAA Protocol Separates Sports by Risk Assessment
