All five area golfers who participated in the 72nd Hudson Cup matches and 29th Senior Hudson Cup last week at Meadow Springs Country Club in Richland came away with points, but it was senior pros Steve Prugh and Billy Bomar who had the best showing.

Manito’s Prugh chosen for PNW hall of fame

TUMWATER, Wash. – The Pacific Northwest Section PGA Hall of Fame has tabbed longtime Manito Golf and Country Club pro Steve Prugh for induction in the Class of 2015. Prugh, who has served his entire 36-year career at Manito. His first three years were under the mentorship of Pacific Northwest Section Hall of Fame member Jim Shriver and the last 33 years as PGA Head Professional.    Prugh is recognized as a well-rounded professional, skilled in all facets of the game.   Previously, he has been honored by the Pacific Northwest Section as Teacher of the Year, Junior Golf Leader and Golf Professional of the Year.

Prughs receive special awards at Hudson Cup

It was nearly a perfect weekend for the Prugh family of Spokane at the 63rd Hudson Cup golf matches last weekend in Lake Oswego, Ore. Steve Prugh, the longtime head professional at Manito Golf & Country Club, was presented the Bob McKendrick Award by the Pacific Northwest Section PGA as the outstanding senior professional in the competition. He had a win and two halved matches for 2 points as the senior pros defeated the senior amateurs 10 1/2-9 1/2 in the 20th edition of the Senior Hudson Cup.
