A power failure Sept. 19 at a Post Falls lift station resulted in somewhere between "2,000 and 10,000" gallons of sewage being spilled on the ground around the city's Fourth Street treatment facility, city officials said Friday. Because the system was down, sewage backed up into the basement of the Family Dental Office in the 400 block of Spokane Street, City Administrator Eric Keck said. It was the only building affected, he said.
