Michigan’s Jim Harbaugh says he wouldn’t lie about transfer

Coach Jim Harbaugh is lashing out at Cincinnati coach Luke Fickell, who says Michigan didn’t support a transfer’s attempt to play for the Bearcats right away. Harbaugh says he told Fickell he wouldn’t lie about what he knew regarding the transfer of James Hudson. The offensive lineman transferred to Cincinnati last year and NCAA denied his waiver request. Hudson says mental health prompted his transfer, but his request was denied because he did not reveal the issues at Michigan.

Big Ten notebook: Jim Harbaugh, Michigan looking to play game outside U.S.

Michigan hasn’t played a game outside the United States in more than a century but coach Jim Harbaugh said that will change soon. Asked about the possibility of playing a game in Mexico, Harbaugh says the Wolverines are close to announcing playing a team on foreign soil. He did not disclose details.

Michigan hires Juwan Howard as basketball coach

Juwan Howard is coming back to Michigan. The former member of the Fab Five basketball team has agreed to a five-year deal to coach the Wolverines. Michigan is giving the Miami Heat assistant coach his first shot at being a head coach, other than during the NBA’s summer league. He replaces John Beilein, who left to coach the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Michigan State and Michigan, those fierce in-state rivals, actually have a lot in common at the moment: Both teams are in the Sweet 16 because of their defense. Ex-Michigan QB Wilton Speight indicates he’s moving to UCLA

Former Michigan quarterback Wilton Speight has indicated on social media that he is transferring to UCLA. Speight could play immediately for coach Chip Kelly’s Bruins as a graduate transfer. Speight started for Michigan for the past two seasons, and he passed for 2,538 yards and 18 touchdowns in 2016.
