Idaho boys: Alex Horning helps Post Falls down Lewiston for 5A district title

Alex Horning scoerd 21 points and top-seeded Post Falls beat visiting second-seeded Lewiston (13-8) 51-40 in the District 1-2 5A championship game on Wednesday.

Caden McLean added 15 points for the Trojans (20-3).

Lewiston (13-8) was led by George Forsman with nine points.

The Bengals host the district second-place game against Lake City on Saturday for a berth to state.

Lake City 51, Coeur d’Alene 33: Jack Kiesbuy scored 13 points and the visiting fourth-seeded Timberwolves (15-8) eliminated the third-seeded Vikings (7-15) in an Idaho District 1-2 5A loser-out on Wednesday.

Chris Irvin and Zach Johnson added 11 points apiece for Lake City. Devin Johnson led CdA with 11 points.

Lakeland 65, Moscow 58: Ammon Munyer scored 17 points, Ben Zubaly added 16 and the visiting, second-seeded Hawks (18-4) beat the top-seeded Bears (13-9) in Game 1 of the best-of-3 District 1-2 4A championship series. Game 2 is Friday. Benny Kitchell led Moscow with 17 points.

Kellogg 53, Timberlake 43: Graden Nearing scores 17 points and the top-seeded Wildcats (16-6) beat second-seeded Tigers (7-14) in the District 1-2 3A championship game. Timberlake hosts the second-place game against Priest River on Thursday for a berth to state. Zach Yetter led Timberlake with 10 points.

Priest River 60 Bonners Ferry 52: Caden Brennan scored 25 points and the visiting fourth-seeded Spartans (8-13) eliminated the third-seeded Badgers (7-14).

Braeden Blackmore led Bonners Ferry with 21 points.
