Now that’s a Vogelbomb.

Daniel Vogelbach hit a ball into the upper deck in right field at T-Mobile Park, becoming only the second player to do so in a game, as the Mariners snapped a six-game losing streak with a 6-2 victory against the Texas Rangers on Monday night.

Vogelbach’s two-run blast off Jose Leclerc gave the M’s a 5-2 lead. The play was reviewed as the ball cleared the right-field foul pole but the call stood.

The Anaheim Angels’ Mo Vaughn reached the upper deck with a 441-foot homer in 1999, the season the ballpark opened.

Of note

LHP Tommy Milone (1-1) earned his first victory since last Aug. 1, when pitching for the Washington Nationals. Milone went 5 2/3 innings and gave up two runs on four hits, with one walk and seven strikeouts. … CF Mallex Smith tied a franchise record with four stolen bases. … The M’s closed out the victory with three relievers – Jesse Biddle, Austin Adams and Anthony Bass – acquired this month. Bass pitched the ninth for his first save with Seattle.

By the numbers

28-12: The M’s record on Memorial Day.

Our take from Right Field

If Vogelbach’s homer wasn’t enough excitement, Smith stole home on a pickoff play in the eighth inning to cap the scoring.

These M’s might be bad, but they can be interesting to watch.

Up next

The series against the Rangers continues Tuesday with the first pitch set for 7:10 p.m. at T-Mobile Park. LHP Marco Gonzales (5-4, 3.41 ERA) seeks his first victory this month against Rangers RHP Adrian Sampson (2-3, 4.44).
