Prep tennis: Lewis and Clark places second at 74th annual Inland Empire Tournament

Brooke Fager, Carolyn Johnson and Madelyn Dibble led Lewis and Clark to a second place finish in the 74th annual Inland Empire Tournament on Saturday. Wenatchee took first with 203 points, just above LC’s 190 points. Fager beat Cashmere’s Aleah Kert 6-0, 6-2 in the No. 1 singles championship.

It wasn’t as easy for Johnson and Dibble in the No. 1 doubles championship, but they prevailed over Chloe Andrewjeski and Kaylynn Noyd of Wenatchee 6-1, 2-6, 6-3.

On the boys side in the No. 1 singles final, Mead’s Eric Liu and Kyle Kuka beat Kennewick’s Robbie Fiocchi and Nathan Webster 6-1, 4-3, def. The Panthers took third in team scoring with 151 points.

Mt. Spokane’s Graham Clarke won the No. 1 singles title via injury default over Shadle Park’s Brenden Archer. The Wildcats were fourth with 151 points.
