The shifty junior running back had just four touchdowns all of last season, but Williams is already up to six this year after scoring three times on the ground Saturday night. Williams punched in a 1-yard rushing TD in the first quarter, added a 2-yarder in the second and an 8-yarder in the third.
A career night from Martin followed his two-touchdown effort last week against San Jose State. The sophomore wide receiver caught 13 passes for 149 yards – both personal bests – and won a one-on-one battle in the fourth quarter to come up with a 21-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter.
The middle linebacker finished with five tackles and was credited with a half-sack, but his biggest contribution to the 35-point win was a nifty interception on Gage Gubrud late in the third quarter. Woods leapt to get his left hand on the pass, tipping it to himself before coming down with the ball and giving his offense the ball back on the 27-yard line.
