Delaney Hodgins and Violet Kapri Morrow combined for 57 points and nine of Eastern Washington’s 13 3-pointers Thursday during an 82-62 Big Sky Conference women’s basketball win over visiting Northern Arizona in Cheney.
Hodgins, who scored 30 points, shot 11 of 28 from the floor, including 5 of 11 from long range, and added eight rebounds. Morrow hit 9 of 11 from the floor and was perfect on her four 3-point attempts.
Symone Starks added seven assists and 3-of-6 shooting on 3-pointers for the Eagles (9-9, 4-2), who finished 13 of 28 from long range. EWU’s Alissa Sealby had a game-high 10 rebounds.
Olivia Lucero of the Lumberjacks (4-13, 1-5) finished with 18 points, nine rebounds and four assists. She shot 3 of 5 on 3-pointers while the rest of the team was 3 for 15.
Eastern began the second quarter with a 10-0 run to take a 25-14 lead. Morrow hit two 3-pointers and Hodgins added one during the run.
The Eagles, who have won four of their last five games, extended their lead to 18 points late in the quarter on Amy Hartleroad’s 3-pointer.
McCorkell shot 8 of 10 from the field, including 4 of 6 on 3-pointers, and 5 for 6 from the line.
Natalie Klinker added 12 points and a game-high 12 rebounds for the Vandals, who outrebounded Southern Utah 60-27. Mikayla Ferenz finished with 11 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists and three blocked shots.
Idaho shot 10 of 27 on 3-pointers, including 7 of 15 in the first half.
Breanu Reid scored 13 points and Rebecca Cardenas added 11 for the Thunderbirds. Southern Utah shot 4 of 18 from long range and 9 for 17 from the line.
Southern Utah scored the first six points of the game, but the Vandals responded with a 21-5 run.
