Whitworth’s Kayla Leland two-time All-America at D-III Indoor Track championships

Kayla Leland finished fourth in the mile run to earn All-America honors at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships in North Central, Illinois on Saturday.

Leland ran a 4:55.07 – a new personal and school record – en route to a fourth place finish. Emily Richards from Ohio Northern repeated in the event.

Leland also earned All-America status in the 800m, finishing eighth in 2:19.03. Richards won the 800 as well.

Kayla Brase finished ninth in the triple jump with a personal record of 38-8.75. Alexa Wandy from SUNY-Geneseo won the event with a final mark of 41-5.75, a new Division III record.
