GLENDALE, Ariz. – There’s only one other team in America right now that has an idea how Gonzaga feels after losing the championship game, and it’s the one that cut down the nets on Monday.

Having lost a close national championship game last year, the Tar Heels are well aware of the despair that comes with second place. And forward Justin Jackson made a point of expressing nothing but respect for the Zags after the game.

“I also want to say Gonzaga is an amazing team. They made plays, back-to-back-to-back whenever we were making plays. Both teams were deserving, for sure deserving of a national championship,” Jackson said. “It’s a great feeling to know we beat a really good team and came out on top.”
