Indians no match for Everett in 10-3 loss

From staff reports

In the game leading up to a matchup with Seattle’s Felix Hernandez, scheduled for a rehab start in Everett on Sunday, the Spokane Indians found the AquaSox’s standard roster more than enough to handle.

Spokane fell to Everett 10-3 in the first of a three-game Northwest League series on Saturday at Everett Memorial Stadium.

The AquaSox have topped the Indians in three of four games this season.

A four-run fourth inning doomed the Indians, pushing the AquaSox’s lead to eight. It was highlighted by a lead-off homer from Donnie Walton and a two-RBI double from Nick Thurman.

Nick Zammarelli was 4 for 4 with three RBIs and Kyle Lewis was 2 for 3 with a home run, two RBIs and four runs to lead Everett.

Brandon Miller scattered three hits in four scoreless innings in the start for Everett.

Kaleb Fontenot (0-1) was handed the loss, surrendering six runs in three innings.

Elio Castillo had a team-high four hits for Spokane.
