Bryan Hilliard ran for 136 yards and scored a touchdown with 3:23 remaining to lead Sacramento State a 24-17 victory against Weber State on Saturday night.
After Hilliard’s 4-yard TD run, which culminated a nine-play, 55-yard drive, the Hornets (2-1, 1-0) stopped Weber State (1-2, 1-1) on downs and bled the last two minutes off the clock.
Jeff Fleming threw for 164 yards and two touchdowns for Sacramento State.
Cameron Higgins was 21 of 42 for 253 yards with two touchdowns and an interception for the Wildcats.
Joe Collins had five catches for 110 yards for Weber State.
Northern Colorado 35, Idaho State 21: At Greeley, Colo., Dylan Orms threw two touchdown passes and ran for two more scores to lead the Bears (2-1, 1-1) to a victory over the Bengals (1-2, 0-1).
Orms was 18 for 24 for 188 yards. Jhamele Robinson added 89 rushing yards, and Andre Harris had a touchdown run for Northern Colorado.
Tavoy Moore kept Idaho State close with a stellar special-teams performance.
Moore returned the opening kickoff 91 yards for a touchdown, added an 81-yard punt return for a score and finished with 237 total return yards.
Montana State 48, Drake 21: At Bozeman, Orenzo Davis rushed for 160 yards and Jason Cunningham kicked five field goals to help the Bobcats defeat the Bulldogs.
Cunningham hit three early field goals, including a career best 55-yarder, to give the Bobcats a 9-0 lead.
He set a school record for field goals in a game, also connecting from 32, 20, 28 and 36 yards. His 55-yarder was third best in school history.
Davis had touchdown runs of 15 and 10 yards for the Bobcats (2-1), and quarterback Denarius McGhee completed 19 of 25 passes for 250 yards.
