Heather Bowman reached double figures in scoring for the 14th consecutive game with 18 points on 8-of-10 shooting and the Gonzaga Bulldogs remained unbeaten in West Coast Conference play with a 66-43 victory over the Pepperdine Waves Thursday night at the McCarthey Athletic Center.
Kelly Bowen chipped in 13 points and a team-high seven rebounds for Gonzaga (16-4, 4-0), which shot 57 percent (29 of 51) for the game, including 64 percent in the second half when it pulled away from a 25-14 halftime lead. Courtney Vandersloot had six assists.
Jessica Ross and Lauren Bell scored 11 points apiece to pace Pepperdine (9-9, 2-2).
UCLA 83, Washington State 48: At Los Angeles, Doreena Campbell led the Bruins (13-4, 4-2) with 15 points in a Pacific-10 Conference victory over the Cougars (8-9, 1-5).
Katie Appleton hit 4 of 5 3-pointers and scored 13 points – her 45th career double-figure outing – for WSU. Her 145 career 3s are a school record, surpassing the 143 made by Joanna Smith (1997-2001).
Jazmine Cooper led the Cougars with 14 points.
USC 90, Washington 82: At Los Angeles, Nadia Parker led five Trojans (10-7, 4-2) in double figures with 26 points and also had nine rebounds and five blocks in a Pacific-10 Conference victory over the Huskies (5-11, 1-5).
Sami Whitcomb scored 26 points, Michelle Augustavo had 11 rebounds and Sarah Morton had four assists to lead Washington.
Brynn Cameron scored 18, Camille LeNoir 14 and Briana Gilbreath and Ashley Corral 10 apiece for USC.
North Idaho 71, Salt Lake 33: The 20th-ranked Cardinals (16-3, 3-1) used defense to jump-start themselves as they pulled away from the Bruins (11-8, 2-2) in a Scenic West Athletic Conference home opener at Rolly Williams Court.
NIC got a nice game from freshman forward Katie Sanders, who made her first start. Sanders, who worked inside often, finished with 10 points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Dayna Burgess led the Bruins with 11 points.
