Jose Maria Olazabal shot a 3-under-par 69 in the Dubai Desert Classic in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, in his first tournament in 18 months.
Olazabal trailed leaders Domingo Hospital of Spain and defending champion Colin Montgomerie of Scotland by four strokes.
