Walter Morgan birdied three of the last six holes to take a one-stroke lead over Ray Floyd after the second round of the Ameritech Senior Open at Long Grove, Ill.
Morgan shot a 70 for an 11-under 133 total on the Kemper Lakes course. Floyd, who won the Senior Players Championship, shot a 65.
After a three-way tie for the lead following two rounds, John Cook shot 67 to stand alone at 14-under-par 199 in the CVS Charity Classic at Sutton, Mass.
That gave him a three-stroke lead over former champion Bruce Fleisher and four-stroke margin over Russ Cochran at Sutton, Mass.
Scotland’s Brian Barnes fired a 6-under-par 66 to open a three-stroke lead in the Senior British Open at Portrush, Northern Ireland. After three rounds, Barnes had a 13-under-par total of 103.
