Oakland Joins Raiders In Lawsuit

Compiled From Wire Services

The Oakland Raiders are suing the NFL for $200 million, alleging the league blocked the team’s return to Oakland and now is demanding a $4 million annual payment. Oakland, Alameda County and the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Authority joined in the antitrust lawsuit, filed Thursday in federal court in response to one filed in August by the league.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Troy Aikman said his strained right calf muscle has healed enough to allow him to start Sunday against Green Bay, although his movement will be severely limited.

Dallas coach Barry Switzer apologized to his top defensive linemen for criticizing them after the Cowboys’ first loss of the season, and promised he will not cite individual players again.

Arizona Cardinals owner Bill Bidwill acknowledged that Kansas City’s 24-3 victory in Sun Devil Stadium last weekend was a bitter embarrassment, but he said he wants to evaluate another full season before deciding the future of Buddy Ryan and his coaching staff.
