Erickson Will Take Most Of Miami Staff With Him To Seattle

By From Wire Reports

New Seahawks head coach Dennis Erickson will take with him to Seattle most of his University of Miami staff, The Miami Herald reported today.

Following Erickson will be Greg McMackin, to be defensive coordinator or defensive backs coach; Dave Arnold, running backs or special teams; Gregg Smith, tight ends; Rich Olson, receivers; Willy Robinson, secondary; Dana LeDuc, strength and conditioning.

Bob Bratkowski, a former offensive coordinator for Erickson at Miami and receivers coach last season for the Seahawks, will become offensive coordinator.

Zeke Bratkowski, Bob’s father, will be quarterbacks coach or assistant head coach. Howard Mudd will coach the offensive line, as he did last season.

Erickson met with the owners of three teams - Seattle, Philadelphia and Denver - this week. He reportedly refused $2 million a year from the Eagles.

In November, Erickson said he was willing to consider NFL offers. But Dec. 27 he said, “I’ll be back next year for certain. I’d like to win a couple more national championships.”

Colorado State coach Sonny Lubick is considered a heavy favorite for the Miami job.
