SEATTLE, WA – The 2018 Seafair Weekend Festival, broadcast locally on KONG-TV, will be produced by and also broadcast live on SWX-TV on Sunday, August 5th from 3 pm to 6 pm. SWX brings years of experience in broadcasting live H1 Unlimited racing, including the Water Follies race in the Tri-Cities. The broadcast will feature the Albert Lee Appliance Cup race featuring H1 Hydroplane racing and the Boeing Air Show featuring the Blue Angels. This new partnership with SWX will extend Seafair’s reach to Spokane, the Tri-Cities, Yakima and beyond into North Idaho and Montana.

“Seafair is excited to be working with SWX to bring this year’s live broadcast of the Albert Lee Appliance Cup and the Boeing Air Show to TV viewers in Eastern Washington and surrounding states. Our partnership provides the entire region a great afternoon of the best water and air excitement you’ll ever see.” Richard Andersen, CEO and President of Seafair.

Seafair’s Boeing Air Show will feature the P-51 Mustang Warbird, Mike Wiskus’s Stunt Plane, the PBY Catalina, U.S. Navy’s Fat Albert, and many more. In addition to the much-anticipated Albert Lee Appliance Cup for H1 Hydroplane racing, Grand Prix World racing returns to Seafair Weekend, featuring 4 boats all with drivers from the Seattle-area. Once again, Monster Energy’s BMX Stunt Show and Hyperlite Wakeboarding team will take over Seafair’s ‘South Turn,’ Grandstands and Log Boom. New this year, Seafair has included a demonstration of their Milk Carton Derby races, adding to the excitement on the water and land at Seafair Weekend Festival.
