The Seattle Mariners gave up 15 hits in a 5-2 loss to the Houston Astros on Tuesday night. With this loss, the Mariners lead in the American League wild card race has dwindled to one game over the Oakland Athletics.

Seattle opened up the scoring in the fourth inning with a Jean Segura solo home run, but the Astros would score three runs in the fifth and sixth innings and wouldn't look back.

Starting pitcher Mike Leake picked up the loss for the Mariners after giving up three earned runs in 6.0 innings of work. Reliever Zach Duke made his Mariners' debut in Tuesday's game and gave up his first home run of the season in the ninth inning to Josh Reddick.

Seattle will conclude their series against the Astros on Wednesday, with the first pitch set for 1:10 p.m.
