Healy lifts Mariners past White Sox, 8-2

Seattle wins its first series since All-Star break Seattle wins its first series since All-Star break

The Seattle Mariners won their first series after the All-Star break, beating the Chicago White Sox on Sunday, 8-2. Ryon Healy had a big day with the bat, hitting two home runs and six RBI's in the win.

The Mariners scored five runs in the first inning and three more in the eighth inning, thanks in large part to Healy's home runs.

Former Gonzaga Bulldogs pitcher Marco Gonzales was nearly flawless on the mound today for the Mariners, giving up just four hits and striking out six batters in 6.1 innings of work. This performance by Gonzales notched him his eleventh win of the season, which is the most on the Mariners and tied for fifth in the American League.

The Mariners have Monday off before beginning a two-game series against the San Francisco Giants.
