The Seattle Mariners beat the Los Angels Angels on Thursday night, 4-1 and winning the series two games to three.

The Mariners opened up the scoring in the third inning when Dee Gordon hit his 21st RBI of the year, bringing in Ben Gamel. The Angels would tie the game in the fourth inning, but Seattle would respond with a run in the fifth and two runs in the seventh to earn their 56th win of the year.

Former Zag and Mariners starting pitcher Marco Gonzales was dominant, throwing seven strikeouts and giving up one earned run in 6.0 innings of work. This performance notched Gonzales his ninth win on the season.

Before the game, catcher Mike Zunino was placed on the 10-day disabled list and Chris Herrmann took his place today behind the plate, hitting his first career home run with the Mariners.

The Mariners will open up a three-game series against the Colorado Rockies on Friday at Safeco Field.
