SPOKANE, Wash. - Hasuan Viera had three RBI and Seth Nordlin picked up his first win of the season as the Indians defeated the Vancouver Canadians 4-3 in front 4,040 fans on OTTO's Birthday Bash and Kid's Day presented by Longhorn BBQ, K-102 Country, and Kids Newspaper.

Trailing 1-0, Spokane would strike in the bottom of the second off Vancouver starter Josh Winckowski. Francisco Ventura continued his four-game hitting streak by knocking in Starling Joseph with an RBI double. Spokane received a stroke of good fortune when Hasuan Viera's infield dribbler found the right spot, allowing Viera to reach first and Ventura to come in to score, giving Spokane a 2-1 lead.

There was no luck needed in Viera's second at-bat. Spokane loaded the bases in the third inning on a walk and two hit-by-pitches, setting the stage for the game's biggest hit. Viera roped a double down the left field line, driving in Diosbel Arias and Starling Joseph to give Spokane a 4-2 lead. Viera's three hits and three RBI both tie career highs.

The Spokane pitching staff shut the door from there. Seth Nordlin (W, 1-0) followed up his excellent first start of the season by twirling 5.2 innings, scattering three runs, and striking out a career high eight hitters. David LeBron came in and tossed 2.1 scoreless innings. Emmanuel Clase pitched a perfect ninth to pick up his first save of the season. LeBron and Clase have yet to allow an earned run in 10 combined innings this year.

The Indians go for their first series win of the season on Monday Night for Smokey Bear Night presented by Living Water Lawn & Tree Care, Wildland Firefighters, KEY 101, and 1510 KGA NW Sports Talk. Join the Spokane Indians as Smokey Bear and the Wildland Fire Agencies will be on hand to provide fire prevention education, Smokey Bear Trivia, and fun prizes!
