The Seattle Mariners lost to the New York Yankees, 7-5 on Wednesday night after Giancarlo Stanton hit a walk-off two-run home run in the ninth inning. With this loss, the Mariners have their first three-game winning streak since April 17- April 19.

The Mariners would kick off the game scoring five runs in the fourth and fifth innings from three hits and a sacrifice fly. In the fifth innings, Felix gave up his first two runs of the game on an Aaron Judge single, as the Mariners lead cut to 5-2. In the eighth innings, Gary Sanchez hit a two-run home run to tie the game, 5-5. Then in the ninth, Giancarlo Stanton hit a two-run homer to lift the Yankees to victory.

Pitcher Felix Hernandez had a solid outing for the Mariners, pitching 5.0 innings, striking out six batters and giving up only one earned run. Closer Ryan Cook picked up the loss for the Mariners as he moves to 1-1 on the season.

The Mariners will wrap up their series against the Yankees on Thursday with the first pitch set for 10:05 a.m.
