Griz Sweep Doubleheader Against UNC

The Griz softball team improved to (23-19, 8-3 BSC) and now have a four-game winning streak after they beat UNC 1-0, and 9-4 Friday. The two wins keep the Grizzlies a half game ahead of Weber State for the Big Sky Conference lead. In game one Michaela Hood set a program record with 13 strikeouts, she also gave up just one hit and no runs. In the second game Delene Colburn had a career high 6 RBI after hitting a three run homer and a three run double. The Griz face the Bears again Saturday to wrap up the series.

    HELENA, Mont.- A major threat to the state capitol as a man is taken into custody after telling police he was planning to "shoot up" the building.  Police say he may have been on his way to the capitol when he was caught. (AP) - A man who was struck by a minivan in Billings has died of his injuries.    The Billings Gazette reports 53-year-old Terry Dubbs was struck while crossing Central Avenue at 8:45 p.m. on Jan. 5. Deputy Yellowstone County Coroner R.L. Hoffman says Dubbs died Tuesday.    Police say the driver called 911 and cooperated with investigators.
