Over 3,000 people took to the water and roadways Sunday in Coeur d'Alene for the Lake City's first half triathlon, the 70.3 half IRONMAN.

People dove into the waters of Lake Coeur d'Alene shortly after 6 AM Sunday morning for their brisk 1.2-mile swim. Once they set foot on land once again, they transitioned to a 56-mile bike ride that followed the North Idaho Centennial Trail. After that, came the last leg of the race, two laps through McEuen Park for their half marathon (13.1-mile) run that ended competitors at the finish line, next to Silver Beach Marina.

SWX and KHQ was on hand for the entire race. Lindsay Joy and our SWX team gave their reactions from the course on Twitter. Below is a taste of what they observed from the Lake City, as well as a look at what the over 20,000 spectators had to say.
