LOS ANGELES - Senior Kyle Wiltjer poured in 23 points and sophomore Domantas Sabonis posted his 13th double-double of the season in a rout of LMU, 92-63, on Thursday night in Los Angeles, Calif.

Gonzaga used an early 12-2 run to grab the lead for good as part of a blistering first half in which the Zags shot 63 percent from the field. GU pushed the lead to 21 at halftime and had a lead of 30-plus for much of the second half. Coupled with Saint Mary's loss at BYU, Gonzaga's win put them back at the top of the West Coast Conference by a half game over the Gaels.

Along with Wiltjer and Sabonis in double figures, Eric McClellan had 14 and Kyle Dranginis posted 11 points to go along with his career-high-tying seven assists and seven rebounds. For the game, Gonzaga shot 57 percent (37-for-65) from the field and 86 percent (12-for-14) from the free throw line. Wiltjer was 9-for-13 from the floor, while Sabonis was 9-for-14.

After taking a 18-11 lead on the initial run, Gonzaga got a jumper and three-point on consecutive possessions to push the lead to double digits for the first time in the game at 25-15. After LMU closed with five at 25-20, GU outscored the Lions 22-6 over the last eight minutes of the first half. That scoring spree was highlights by eight points from Sabonis.

It was more of the same in the second half as Sabonis and Wiltjer kept it rolling on offense. The pair scored 10 of the first 18 points of the second half for Gonzaga to push the lead to 65-37. A layup by Ryan Edwards gave GU its first 30-point lead of the game.

The Zags also got solid contributions from Ryan Edwards and Silas Melson off the bench. Edwards played 18 minutes and scored six points to go along with five rebounds, while Melson was 6-for-7 from the free throw line and scored eight points.

GU will be back on the court on Saturday at Pepperdine at 9 p.m. The game in Malibu, Calif., will be broadcast on ESPN2.
