Dominic Zwerger scored 4 points and linemate Hudson Elyniuk added 3 as the Spokane Chiefs defeated the U.S. Division leading Everett Silvertips 4-1 Sunday night in Everett. It was the Chiefs second win in 7 meetings with the Silvertips this season, and the victory pushed Spokane into third place in the division; one point ahead of Portland.

Zwerger started the scoring with a wraparound at 7:16 of the first period on assists from Elyniuk and Keanu Yamamoto. Elyniuk would score his 12th of the season on Spokane's first power play on assists from Zwerger and Evan Fiala at 14:53 to give the Chiefs a 2-0 lead after one. Zwerger would extend the lead to 3-0 at 15:47 of the second period as Keanu Yamamoto and Tyson Helgesen got the helpers. Zwerger would score his first hat trick of his career on the power play just 27 seconds into the third period to make it a 4-0 Chiefs lead. Kailer Yamamoto and Fiala would get the assists.

The shutout would be spoiled when Everett's Dawson Leedahl scored at 11:43 of the third period. Chiefs goalie Lasse Petersen shut out the Tips the rest of way as he registered his second win over Everett this year with 27 saves. Spokane was outshot 28-22 in the contest, as the Chiefs went 2-3 on the power play and 5-5 on the penalty kill, including killing off three straight Everett power plays in the third. Spokane will continue the road trip Wednesday night in Vancouver when they visit the Giants for a 7pm game. Mike Boyle will have the call on 1510 KGA starting with the pre-game show at 6:30pm.
