Kailer Yamamoto scored two goals in a three goal third period and Tyson Verhelst made 35 saves to lead the Spokane Chiefs to a 3-1 win over the Edmonton Oil Kings Sunday in Edmonton, Alberta. The win was Spokane's third straight on the Central Division swing of their 6 game road trip and brought Spokane to 7-7-1-1 on the season.

Edmonton took a 1-0 lead in the first period on a Dario Meyer goal at 15:40 as the Oil Kings outshot Spokane 19-9 in the first. Neither team scored in the second as the Chiefs were once again outshot 8-6. Spokane was 0-5 on the power play in the first two periods but a perfect 4-4 on the penalty kill. Yamamoto would score off a steal just 1:33 into the third as his 4th goal of the season tied the game at one. He would put up the game winner at 14:09 of the period with a power play goal from Nik Andersen and Jason Fram. Riley Whittingham would seal the win with an empty net goal from Dalton Hamaliuk, who picked up his first WHL point with the assist, at 19:46 to wrap up a 3-1 win.

Verhelst turned away 35 of 36 Edmonton shots as Yamamoto's power play goal was the 4th straight game the Chiefs have scored with a man advantage. Yamamoto and Andersen have scored points in all 4 games on the road trip as the Chiefs are in second place in the U.S. Division with 16 points. Spokane will play game 5 of the 6 game road swing Tuesday night in Kamloops at 7pm as they face the Blazers for the second time this year.
