SPOKANE, Wash. -- The Indians could never make it back from back-to-back three-run innings from the Canadians, as Spokane lost 6-3 to Vancouver in front of 4,917 fans and Avista Stadium on Thursday night.

Vancouver got to Indians starter Joe Palumbo in the fifth inning, scoring three runs on three straight two-out singles. Palumbo exited the game with two strikeouts, two walks and a 2.92 ERA. Kohsuke Tomita relieved in the sixth, but was pulled after allowing the second three-spot to Vancouver after collecting only two outs. Ashton Perritt allowed one hit with a strikeout in the next 1.1 innings.

Spokane reliever Jeffrey Springs struck out two in a scoreless eighth. He has 33 strikeouts, just seven behind team leader Luke Lanphere despite tossing just 26.1 innings out of the bullpen.

LeDarious Clark collected his league-leading sixth triple in the fifth inning as he hit Yeyson Yrizarri home. Yrizarri finished 3-for-4, extending his season-high hit streak to an impressive 11 games.

In the fourth, after Jamie Potts hit a deep fly ball to left, Spokane scored the game's first run when Leon Byrd Jr., just barely escaped the tag at the plate from Vancouver catcher Josh Reavis.

Ti'Quan Forbes finished 2-for-4, both hits being infield singles. The third baseman has hit safely in seven of his past 10 games to raise his batting average to .244.
