SPOKANE, Wash. -- Peter Fairbanks had a season-high six strikeouts, Jamie Potts hit a homer run off the scoreboard, and the Spokane Indians edged the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes 4-3, winning the series, in front of 4,010 fans on Sunday afternoon at Avista Stadium. It was Lone Wolf Harley-Davidson Day, presented by Lone Wolf Harley-Davidson, KHQ, 98.9 KKZX and The Spokesman-Review.

Fairbanks lowered his ERA to 3.40, and now has 34 punch outs for the season.

Jason Richman earned his first save of the season, striking out three of his five batters faced, in a perfect outing. The left-hander with a submarine throwing motion has a 3.66 ERA out of the bullpen.

Connor McKay hit a triple off the wall in the second to plate Sherman Lacrus. With Potts up to bat next, a wild pitch brought home McKay from third to give Spokane a lead they wouldn't relinquish.

The in the fifth, with Doug Votolato on first, Yeyson Yrizarri hit a bloop single to right field to advance the outfielder to third. An errant throw got past first baseman Chris Shaw, allowing Votolato to score to give Spokane a 4-1 advantage.

Dario Beltre relieved the starter in the sixth, but was yanked after giving up two runs and collecting just two outs in favor of the local Dan Scheibe. Scheibe allowed one hit in 1.2 innings.

Spokane hits the road for a quick three-game showdown with the first-place Everett AquaSox. You can listen to all of the Indians action on SportsRadio 1510 KGA with the Voice of the Indians, Mike Boyle!

The Indians return home next Thursday, August 20th for Kids Night & OTTO's Birthday, presented by Cloverdale Foods, 103.9 BOB FM, 790 The Eagle and Family Guide. OTTO's mascot friends will be on hand and we'll have great activities for kids all night long. Stay after the game and Circle the Bases courtesy of Supercuts!
