SPOKANE, Wash. -- The Spokane Indians offense awoke from a slumber with 11 hits, defeating the Tri-City Dust Devils 9-5 at Avista Stadium on Monday night in front of 3,954 fans.

The Indians didn't take long to get things rolling.

After Dust Devils starter Brett Kennedy walked Jamie Potts, Tyler Sanchez and Leon Byrd Jr., connected on back-to-back doubles to give Spokane an early lead in the second inning. Darius Day singled home Byrd, then quickly stole second. LeDarious Clark would then hit a double to right-center to score Day, officially chasing Kennedy from the bump.

Byrd knocked a two-run triple in the third, his first of the season. The 10th-Round Pick out of Rice finished 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs scored and a walk.

Yeyson Yrizarri hit his first Avista Stadium home run, a solo shot to left field. Yrizarri also added an RBI single in the seventh to score Potts. The Domincan Republic native finished with two hits and two RBI. Day also continued his recent hot streak, finishing 3-for-4 with two RBI.

Cody Palmquist started on the bump for the Indians, scattering five hits in five innings earning his second win of the season. The right hander struck out three, walked four and allowed two runs. Tyler Davis relieved him in the sixth, giving up two runs in three innings. Indians newcomer Seth Lintz made his Avista Stadium debut in the ninth, allowing one run on one hit.
