SWXRightNow.com -- Spokenya Run/Walk 2015 is this Saturday and you can still get involved in the 7K event that helps Spring of Hope International bring sustainable water resources to Africa.

Kenyan native and Spokanite David Opap has organized the event, now in its sixth year, to help those in his homeland after losing his own family members to deseases relating to drinking bad water.

Late In-Person registration is still available for those hoping to run or walk. It will cost $35 per person and you can sign up during packet pickup on July 17 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. PT and July 18 from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. PT at Life Center Church.

In SpoKenya's first year the money raised helped bring flouride treatment for a well, the second year renovated a clinic, the third brought rain catchment to a school, in 2013 ponds were deepened and enlarged, last year two broken wells were fixed and this year's proceeds will install rainwater catchers in schools. 

This year the money raised will go to installing rainwater catchment systems in the two local schools will ensure students have clean drinking water and improve their opportunity to attend school because they can bring clean water home with them.
