SPOKANE, Wash. -- Diego Cedeno's pinch-hit infield single in the bottom of the eighth inning scored Jamie Potts to lead the Spokane Indians to a 3-2 win over the Boise Hawks in Northwest League play at Avista Stadium on Tuesday night.

Potts got aboard with a hard-hit ball the Hawks (7-12) center fielder couldn't handle to lead off the eighth. A few batters later Cedeno hit a high-bounching ball to the second baseman and his throw home wasn't in time to take the late lead.

The Indians (11-9) started off with a 2-0 lead over Boise thanks to runs in the first and fourth innings and five strong frames from Spokane starter Emerson Martinez. The Venezuelan righty struck out five and only gave up an unearned run in the fifth.

Carlos Herrera tied things up for the Hawks in the top of the eighth on a sacrifice fly from Brian Mundell.

Luis Parra pitched the final out in the eighth and a scoreless top of the ninth to earn his fourth win on the season. Dario Beltre pitched 2.2 innings of relief and struck out two, but was charged for the tying run.

Ledarious Clark extended his hitting streak to 17 games with a single to lead off the bottom of the first. He went on to steal second, took third on a Leon Byrd sac fly and scored on Dylan Moore's ground out. Clark is hot on the heels of former Indian Royce Bollinger, who hit safely in 23 games in 2012, the fourth longest streak in Spokane history.

The Indians are now just one game back of Everett for the lead in the North Division.

Spokane will host Boise for their series finale tomorrow night, Wednesday July 8th, at 6:30 p.m. PT.
