SPOKANE, Wash. -- Two Spokane Shock players have been suspended following their involvement in a Las Vegas Metro Police investigation after an alleged incident during the Shock's recent trip to Sin City to face the Las Vegas Outlaws during the weekend of May 23.

Spokane released the following statement about the situation.

“We are extremely disappointed by the alleged incident that was recently brought to our attention involving two of our players in Las Vegas, Nevada during the weekend of May 23, 2015,” said Shock Director of Operations Ryan Eucker. “We have been cooperating with AFL staff and the Las Vegas Metro Police Department in the ongoing investigation. Given recent developments in the case, we are taking strong and necessary actions to address these issues with those allegedly involved, as well as, develop internal measures to prevent this type of incident from occurring in the future.”

“We are closely monitoring the proceedings as the appropriate parties investigate the matters. While the investigation is ongoing, we have suspended the individuals alleged to be involved from all football and organizational related activities until further information is presented,” said Eucker. “The Shock believes that it is our civic duty and responsibility to our fans to hold all those involved in our organization, both on and off the field, to the highest standards of conduct.”

No names have been released by the Spokane Shock or the AFL. Two Shock players, offensive lineman Mark Jackson and wide receiver Samuel Charles, were placed on listed on the AFL League Suspension list at the same time on June 5.

Jackson is in his second season with Spokane and had moved into a starting role this season after being a back up in 2014. Charles is in his rookie season with the Shock and has 18 receptions for 187 yards and three touchdowns this year.

Charges have yet to be filed by the LVPD, but are imminent.
