SPOKANE, Wash. -- Graison Le created a first-half penalty goal for Sam Engle to give the Spokane Shadow a 1-0 lead going into halftime, but the Seattle Stars equalized midway through the second half to earn a share of the spoils in their Evergreen Premier League of Washington showdown on Saturday night.

The Shadow (1-0-1) had a handful of good chances on goal in the first half, but were only able to convert on Engle's penalty. Spokane's other best chance came early in the match with Engle cutting across net and taking a Le pass, but the Whitworth man sent it high and wide.

The attack rate slowed down in the second half for Spokane and the Stars pushed on the counter, forcing the Shadow to play on their backfoot for much of the later minutes.

Peiman Alessandro finally slotted home a second-chance opportunity for Seattle, following yet another Jeff Srock save. The Stars also had a few chances following the goal but couldn't put another shot past Srock late in the game.

Spokane had a couple of final minute half-chances, but when the ref finally blew his whistle the draw was complete.

Scoring

SPO: Sam Engle (penalty) 22

SEA: Peiman Alessandro 78
