Shock Shake Things Up With A Couple Of Trades, Roster Adds

Shock Trade For WR Hilton

SPOKANE, Wash. – The Shock have acquired receiver Justin Hilton from the Orlando Predators in trade for future considerations.

Hilton (6-2, 195, Indiana State) joins the Shock roster for his third season as a member of the Arena Football League after beginning the 2015 season with Orlando. Hilton saw action in two games with the Predators this season and recorded eight receptions for 99 yards and two touchdowns. During the 2014 season with the Tampa Bay Storm, Hilton recorded 38 receptions for 500 yards and 11 touchdowns in five starts. As a rookie with the Storm in 2013, Hilton saw action in two games as he registered five receptions for 95 yards and two scores. During his senior season at Indiana State, Hilton led the Sycamores with 32 catches for 540 yards and four touchdowns.

In additional transactions for May 7, receiver Braylon Bell has been placed been placed on Refuse to Report.

The Shock will host the Los Angeles Kiss for Week 7 Arena Football League action and for the first-time in franchise history this Friday, May 8 at Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena. Shock Trade Harper, Add Two AFL Vets

The Shock have been assigned defensive lineman Micah King and defensive back Christian Wise to the 2015 roster. Spokane also traded wide receiver Rod Harper to the New Orleans VooDoo in exchange for future considerations.

King (5-11, 245, Southern Illinois) joins the Shock for his sixth season as a member of the Arena Football League and for his third season with Spokane. King has amassed 139 total tackles (98 solo), 13 sacks, 20.5 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, and eight pass breakups over his career in the AFL. Over the course of his five previous seasons, King has spent time with the Iowa Barnstormers (2010), the Shock (2011-2012), and the San Antonio Talons (2013-2014). He began his collegiate career at Joliet Junior College as a linebacker before transferring to Southern Illinois University.

Wise (6-1, 190, Clark Atlanta) joins the Spokane roster for his fifth season in the AFL. Over the course of his career, Wise has served as a contributing utility player for multiple AFL franchises playing wide receiver, defensive back, and on special teams. Wise began his career with the Bossier-Shreveport Battlewings in 2010 before playing for the Kansas City Command in 2011 and 2012. After being traded to the Pittsburgh Power in 2012, he would continue with the Power into the 2013 AFL season. Over the course of his career, Wise has recorded 44.5 total tackles and nine pass breakups as a defensive back while adding 59 receptions for 818 yards and 17 touchdowns as a receiver. He also recorded 49 kick returns for 778 yards and one touchdown.

Spokane traded receiver Rod Harper (6-0, 205, Murray State) to the New Orleans VooDoo for future considerations. Harper debuted with the Shock for his rookie AFL season in 2012 and recorded 51 receptions for 472 yards and 12 touchdowns in only seven games. Last season with the San Jose Sabercats, Harper hauled in 100 receptions for 10,027 yards and 18 touchdowns. During the 2015 season, Harper began the year under contract with the Los Angeles Kiss before being acquired by the Shock in a trade for rookie defensive lineman Ronnell Lewis (6-2, 260, Oklahoma).

In additional transactions, Spokane activated receiver Braylon Bell (6-6, 206, Abilene Christian) from the Other League Exempt list after he was recently released by the NFL's Washington Redskins. Defensive back JT Fitzgerald (6-1, 206, Rocky Mountain) has been placed on Inactive Reserve, rookie defensive lineman Will Hunt (6-4, 265, Charleston Southern) has been placed on Injured Reserve, and rookie offensive lineman Tavaris Jeffries (6-4, 325, Oklahoma) has been placed on League Suspension.
