(Photo: Twitter/Brewers) -- With the MLB season just getting underway, and the Spokane Indians season not too far off, we decided to take a look at some of the wild and wacky ballpark food items available around the country. We weren't disappointed.

From the artery-clogging and meat-packed hot dogs and burgers, to the not-so delicate desserts and the just downright weird things to serve. There's a lot to choose from at fields and stadiums around the country.

In the slideshow above are some picture from the cream of the crop when it comes to mouth-watering and insane foods you can get while watching America's game.

Here is a list of the wild and wacky food items with some more detail about them...

Churro Dog - Arizona Diamondbacks, Chase Field – The D-backs on Wednesday introduced their Churro Dog, a dessert that takes the shape of a hot dog, but instead is a churro in a doughnut bun, then topped with frozen yogurt, plus caramel and chocolate sauce. That's 1,117 calories of sweetness.

D-Bat Dog - Arizona Diamondbacks, Chase Field – 18-Inch Bacon, Jalapenos and cheddar stuffed Corn Dog on a bed of french fries. This item runs about 3,000 calories and was quite popular last season, as the team reports it sold 9,517 of them, or 117 per home game. For $25, hard to go wrong at a big lead park.

Mariners' Beer Float - Seattle Mariners, Safeco Field – Pike Brewing's XXXXX Stout with Snoqualmie Creamery Mukilteo Mudd ice cream. Two PNW icons meet under the lights in this Safeco Field dessert.

Bacon-Wrapped Hot Dog - Seattle Mariners, Safeco Field – Cloverdale Meats hot dog wrapped in Bavarian Meats bacon with grilled onions, jalapenos and chipotle crema at Edgar's Cantina at the ballpark. Reliable local sources have confirmed this is the best food item at Safeco Field.

Totally Rossome Boomstick - Texas Rangers, Globe Life Park – Two-foot long, one-pound hot dog topped with smoked brisket, pico de gallo and sour cream… and Doritos. All that for $32 in Arlington isn't too bad. It may be bad for your blood pressure, though. You can also get the classic Boomstick--named after former Ranger now-Mariner DH Nelson Cruz-- with classic hot dog toppings for a slightly-less nominal fee.

Bats and Balls - Missoula Ospreys, Ogren Park at Allegiance Field – The bats are French fries and the balls are deep fried Rocky Mountain Oysters a.k.a. Montana Tendergroins, a.k.a. bull calf testicles.

Big Mother Funnel Burger & Grilled Cheese Bacon Cheeseburger - Single A Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (Brewers) – These genius burgers are probably for not too healthy, lots of protein... and fat. Smack a burger between two funnel cakes. Boom. Throw a bacon cheeseburger between buns made of grilled cheese sandwiches. What could be better?

Bratchos - Milwaukee Brewers, Miller Park – Chorizo, Italian Pork, Polish Sausage and a brat cut up over Kettle Chips with nacho cheese, sour cream, jalapenos and fried sauerkraut. Not only do the sausages run at Miller Park, they get cut and made into American-ized nachos.

Inside the Park Nachos - Milwaukee Brewers, Miller Park – Re-fried beans, a stick of beef, encased in crushed Doritos, deep fried with accents of nacho cheese and sour cream. IT'S NACHOS ON A STICK PEOPLE!

Pulled Pork Parfait - Milwaukee Brewers, Miller Park - Served in a parfait or pint glass this dinner parfait consists of mashed potatoes, pulled pork and barbecue sauce. Its infamy even saw fans create a Twitter account for one of the Brewers original weird food items.

Chicken and Waffle Cone - Houston Astros, Minute Maid Stadium – Popcorn-style pieces of fried chicken served with mashed potatoes and honey mustard all in a waffle cone.

Crab Mac Hot Dog - Baltimore Orioles, Camden Yards – Stuggy's brings a hot dog topped with mac and cheese, lump crab meat and Old Bay seasoning. Stuggy's may offer a ton of great dogs to the O's faithful, but none as decedent as this sucker.

Cuban Pretzel Dog - Pittsburgh Pirates, PNC Park – Pretzel bun hot dog topped with ham, pork, Swiss cheese, pickles and Dijon mustard. Pretty explanatory, but also pretty great to munch on before Andrew McCutchen and the Bucs take the field.

Poutine Hot Dog - Detroit Tigers, Comerica Park – Hot dog topped with fries, gravy and cheese curds. With the border so close, it's no surprise the Tigers are bringing a taste of Canada to Comerica Park.

Meat Lover's Hot Dog - Cincinnati Reds, Great American Ballpark – Bacon-wrapped deep-fried hot dog topped with beef chili, shredded pepper jack cheese and deep-fried salami strips. The shock paddles are ready for cardiac arrest victims at GAB.

Mac Bat – Tampa Bay Rays, Tropicana Field– Macaroni and cheese topped with bacon bits, chili or tomatoes inside of a cone shaped like a bat. Have one or try all three, you can't go wrong with this portable treat.

Tommy Lasorda's Meatball Marinara Fries – L.A. Dodgers, Dodger Stadium – Nothing too special it's just meatballs and marinara sauce on French fries. But there's nowhere else on Earth where you can eat something like this than a ballpark, like the Dodger Stadium.

Liberty Village Smoked Pork Sandwich – Toronto Blue Jays, Rogers Centre – Doesn't look too out there as far as ballpark food goes, but it decadence makes it special. On an onion bun comes smoked pork, red cabbage slaw, apple chutney and dijonnaise. Not your average sammy to eat at a baseball game.

Island Dog – Kansas City Royals, Kauffman Stadium – This all-beef frank comes with grilled-pineapple, ham, mandarin orange slices, Hawaiian cole slaw and teriyaki sauce… This is either delicious or utterly disgusting.

The Strasburger – Washington Nationals, Nationals Park– Named after former first-overall pick Stephen Strasburg, this burger is your usual bun, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions and pickles burger… the catch… IT'S EIGHT POUNDS. You can also add fries if you're still hungry.
