Spokane, WA - The Spokane Indians fell to the Tri-City Dust Devils in a marathon by a score of 21-12 in front of 5,257 fans at Avista Stadium on Monday night. The two teams combined for 36 hits, 19 from Tri-City and 17 from Spokane. It was Indians Team Photo Giveaway presented by Lawton Printing and SportsRadio 1510 KGA.

Tri-City jumped way ahead early, leading the Indians 16-4 in the fifth inning. The Dust Devil offense was paced by Miguel Dilone who went 3 for 4 with eight RBI, second-most in Northwest League history. Former Spokane Indians player Brandon Cashman holds the league record with nine thanks to a four home run effort on June 28, 2004, against the Everett AquaSox.

Spokane did its best to keep things interesting, loading the bases with no outs in the bottom of the sixth inning. That opportunity would turn into a seven-run inning for Spokane. Josh Morgan, Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Juremi Profar and Chuck Moorman each had RBIs in the inning. Kiner-Falefa finished with three hits and three RBI. Profar also had three RBI to push his season total to 31.

Seth Spivey went 4-for-5 with one walk to raise his batting average to .341, second in the Northwest League.

Each team used six pitchers in the 3 hour, 38 minute game, with Grahamm Wiest being credited with the win. Andrew Barnett earned the loss, lowering his record to 4-3. Johnny Fasola pitched a scoreless eighth inning to lower his ERA to 2.42.

The Indians will enjoy the NWL's second day off tomorrow and return to action on Wednesday, August 20th, in Hillsboro. You can listen to all Indians away games on SportsRadio 1510 KGA with the Voice of the Indians, Mike Boyle.

Spokane will return home next Monday, August 25th, as the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes come to town for the first time this season. It will be Health & Wellness Fair Night, presented by Premera Blue Cross, HOT 96.9 and North Idaho Wellness.
