SPOKANE, Wash. -- The Spokane Indians found the hits they'd been missing in their recent three-game slide en route to topping the Hillsboro Hops 11-1 live on SWX at Avista Stadium on Friday, July 31.

The Indians (28-20, 4-7 second half) jumped out to a quick lead in the first inning on a Luke Tendler home run blast to right field, adding another run later in the frame from a RBI single by Pepe Cardona to score Jose Trevino after he doubled.

Spokane poured on two more runs in the second inning. Tendler singled in Diego Cedeno from second base and came in to score on the next at bat thanks to a Trevino RBI double to give the Indians a quick 4-0 lead.

Trevino would add another run in the fourth for Spokane on a solo shot over the left field wall.

The Indians scored 5 runs, four of them unearned after Hops (28-20, 7-4) third baseman Kevin Cron misplayed a Trevino pop up just in front of his bag. Seth Spivey made Hillsboro pay a few moments later, smacking a two RBI triple. The only earned run of the frame came on Cardona's RBI single to score Spivey.

The Hops eked out a run in the top of the ninth off of Indians reliever John Fasola. Spokane pitchers combined for eight innings of scoreless ball and 16 strikeouts to shut down Hillsboro.

Trevino finished the night 3-5 with 2 doubles, a homer, 3 runs and 2 RBI to pave the way for Spokane in the wind. Tendler completed a 2-4 game with a team high 3 RBI.

Both teams will meet again tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. PDT for game four of the five-game series. Andrew Barnett (3-1, 4.29 ERA) will take the mound to start things off for the Indians, with Hillsboro throwing Kyle Anderson out there for his third start of the season.
