SPOKANE, Wash. - Spokane Chiefs forward Kailer Yamamoto was announced today as a member of USA Hockey’s 2014 U.S. Under-17 Select Team that will compete in the U-17 Five Nations Tournament August 13-17 in Crimmitschau, Germany. Yamamoto signed with the Chiefs earlier this summer  after being selected in the 5th Round (105th Overall) of the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft.

Yamamoto, a native of Spokane, spent last week at the USA Hockey Boys’ Select 16 Player Development Camp in Williamsville, New York. Competing with Team Gold (one of five teams), he scored 2 goals and 4 assists in 5 games during the camp.

As one of 12 forwards selected to the 20-man roster, Yamamoto will compete against opponents from the Czech Republic, Germany, Slovakia and Switzerland in the Five Nations Tournament next month. Nine states are represented on the team, with Yamamoto as the only player from Washington.

The Spokane Chiefs’ Bud Light Opening Night at Spokane Arena is Saturday, September 27. Ticket packages for the 2014-15 regular season are on sale now and begin as low as $96. Stop by the Chiefs’ Ticket Office or call a Chiefs Ticket Account Executive at (509) 535-PUCK for more information.
