Long Ball Leads Indians Over Hawks, Still Perfect at Home

Written by the Spokane Indians

SPOKANE, Wash. -- Jose Trevino hit his first professional homer, Luke Tendler added in his second homer of the year and Johnny Fasola earned his second save as the Spokane Indians (8-1) beat the Boise Hawks (4-6) 6-2 in front of 4,156 fans at Avista Stadium. The win matches the second-best start in the Spokane Indians’ 112-year history.

Trevino went 3-for-4, scoring three runs in addition to his home run over the left field fence. Tendler, now batting .444, hit his long ball deep in right field. Tendler went 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Marcus Greene and Eduard Pinto added another RBI each for the final Spokane tally.

Fasola struck out four of the six batters he faced while earning his second save of the season. Fasola’s dominating performance helped secure Nick Dignacco’s first winning decision of the year. Dignacco relieved starter Andrew Barnett in the fourth inning and allowed one hit and struck out four in three innings of work.

Fernando Vivili added his fifth double of the year and his third stolen base, both highs on the team. He is hitting .333 for the year.
