SPOKANE, Wash. -- Sources have confirmed to SWX that Lewis and Clark High School has fired varsity boy's basketball head coach Jeff Norton, but he will remain at the school in his position as the Tigers Athletic Director.

Norton served as the LCHS varsity head basketball coach for nine seasons and has spent over 30 years working in Lewis and Clark's athletic program. In his nine seasons in charge of the Tigers basketball team Norton was 63-102 in Greater Spokane League Play, 73-117 overall, while prowling the sidelines.

Norton was the interim head coach of the girl's varsity basketball program for one season and also served as the boys tennis coach for 15 years, winning five league championships, and even coached two state champion doubles team.

The search for a new head coach will start immediately and Norton will take a backseat in the final decision. Norton declined to comment about the situation.
