Academic All-Star: Trenton Nett

Posted: Updated:
KENNEWICK, WA - Because of academic standards, many athletes feel pressure to succeed in the classroom. But for Southridge's Trenton Nett, that comes from the living room. His dad is a teacher at Kennewick High School.

“Rivalries, we finally got him to wear a Southridge hat, so it's going pretty good. Study with homework, AP tests coming up, he's helping out there, helps out a whole lot,” says Southridge junior Nett.

And coming from a household with high academic expectations, he knows that tools he needs to prioritize.

“Organizing, a lot of it, sleep most nights,” says Nett.

After his senior year, he hopes to study engineering or follow his father into teaching at Gonzaga University or Idaho. His coaches aren't surprised, they say it's to be expected.

"Runs through the family, great people, concerned with people around them, making Southridge a better place. That exemplifies what he does here,” says Southridge Head Baseball Coach Tim Sanders.
