WATCH: Gonzaga, Oklahoma State News Conferences

Updated:
Gonzaga will face Oklahoma State on Friday in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Gonzaga will face Oklahoma State on Friday in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

For Gonzaga fans some things are just automatic. They cruise through the West Coast Conference. They win the conference tournament, and then they make it to the NCAA Tournament. And every year they go through the rituals associated with the tournament, including holding those sometimes serious and sometimes silly pre-game news conferences.

The Zags hold their first day-before question and answer sessions with the media Thursday afternoon in San Diego. The players go first at 1:35 p.m. Coach Mark Few will follow at 1:50. SWX will carry the news conferences live on TV, as well as online and on the WATCH SWX app available for both Android and iOS.

Gonzaga’s news conferences will follow their opponent’s, Oklahoma State, at 12:05 p.m. Like the Zags’ session, SWX will broadcast and stream theirs as well.

Different this year is how the media is required to treat postgame news conferences. In the past, SWX and KHQ have aired and streamed the postgame sessions – win or lose. This year, those sessions are being reserved for the NCAA’s website. SWX will still cover the games to gather the emotion of the tournament from a local perspective.

As Gonzaga advances through the tournament, SWX will continue to offer coverage on TV and online, including pre-game news conferences. Should the Zags beat Oklahoma State on Friday, the team’s next conference would happen Saturday at 2:20 p.m.
