SPOKANE, Wash. -

In 2012, Shadle Park sophomore quarterback Brett Rypien set the single-game Greater Spokane League record with 577 yards in an overtime loss to Central Valley.

On Thursday, Rypien had nearly matched that number by halftime.

Rypien now owns the top four single-game passing days in GSL history after breaking his own previous record and throwing for 613 yards in a 63-42 win over Mt. Spokane at Joe Albi Stadium Thursday night.

No quarterback in Washington high school football history had previously thrown for more than 600 yards in a single game.

Rypien was 35 of 47 for 480 yards and six touchdowns after two quarters.
