BOISE – Dillon Maples (2-0) allowed one run on five hits over five innings to guide the Boise Hawks to a 3-1 victory over the Spokane Indians in Northwest League baseball action on Sunday.

Maples finished with five strikeouts and didn't walk a batter. Releiver Corbin Hoffner followed with three shutout innings, allowing one hit with a pair of strikeouts. Tyler Bremer fanned the side in the ninth to earn his fourth save of the season.

Kris Bryant drove in all three Boise runs. The Hawks scored all the runs they would need in the bottom of the fourth on Bryant's two-run home run – his second of the season – off Indians starter David Ledbetter (3-1).

Spokane scored its only run in the fifth on back-to-back-to-back singles by Cam Schiller, Janluis Castro and Jamie Jarmon.

The Indians fell to 22-22 on the season and are now 2-4 in the second half. The Hawks improved to 24-20 overall and 3-3 in the second half.
