Report: Edwards Inks Deal With Cardinals

Updated:

Former Eastern Washington wide receiver Nicholas Edwards has signed a one-year contract with the Arizona Cardinals, according to Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post.

Edwards walked on at Eastern Washington University and ended up ranking second all-time in touchdown receptions. He started 37 games in his career before suffering a knee injury in September of 2012 that kept him out of EWU's line up for three weeks.

Before the season began he was named a first team All-American by The Sports Network, Athlon College Football Preview, Phil Steele's FCS College Football Preview, AnyGivenSaturday.com and Beyond Sports College Network. He was also named the No. 2 FCS wide receiver in the country by Phil Steele's FCS College Football Preview.

Edwards also tried out for the New York Jets before signing with the Cardinals.
