Kids Rule The Day At The WCC Tournament

LAS VEGAS, Nevada - It may have been a gloomy day outside of the Orleans Hotel in Las Vegas, but that didn't dampen the spirits of the hundreds of kids piling out of buses for WCC kids day.

Hundreds of disadvantaged students from several Las Vegas elementary schools had the chance to trade out their old sneakers for a free pair of new shoes. Students were selected through the After-School All-Stars program.

All the sneakers were donated by the group Samaritan's Feet. Volunteers represented all schools in the WCC.

Those participating were able to watch the women's quarterfinal game as well.

According to the WCC, Kids Day has served over 3,600 students from the After-School All-Stars program since 2009.
